A partnership involving new initiatives and workshops has been established between UPC Business and the city of Limerick’s local Chamber of Commerce.

Limerick Chamber represents over 600 members and is the biggest representative of business in the region.

“This partnership represents many opportunities for both organisations and, in particular, I’m impressed with the company’s business portfolio,” said Maria Kelly, CEO of Limerick Chamber.

“We have planned many activities throughout this year, and I look forward to communicating these to our members as they arise.”

UPC Business has invested €6m in upgrading its local infrastructure, and has access to national and international links through its undersea fibre-optic cable, which stretches to the UK, Europe and the US.

“UPC is a national communications and entertainment operator with a local presence in Limerick, where the company employs 500 staff located at the Limerick Enterprise Development Board,” said Robert Dunn, CEO of UPC.

“The Chamber in Limerick lies at the heart of local business. We intend to forge a strong working relationship with the Chamber and its members.

“Through this partnership, we will have an opportunity to promote our services, business interests, products and information to enable businesses to be more competitive and realise substantial financial savings,” Dunn added.
