New York-listed information protection and storage giant Iron Mountain, which has more than 100,000 corporate clients worldwide, has acquired the assets and workforce of records destruction firm Datastroy for an undisclosed sum.
Iron Mountain entered the Irish market six years ago and since then it has grown revenue significantly and created over 80 jobs.
In the past 18 months Iron Mountain opened new sites in Cork, Dublin and Belfast and has further plans to expand in Dublin.
Following the acquisition of Datastroy, 18 staff members will transfer to Iron Mountain employment.
“The acquisition of Datastroy will allow us to consolidate our industry experience and strong global customer base, accelerating our growth in this important market,” explained Mike Ronald, managing director of Iron Mountain Ireland.
Iron Mountain will be able to offer a complete range of records management, data protection and secure shredding services to more than 1,500 customers across the region.
