Irish software company Version 1 has continued its acquisitions foray in the UK, with Beoley Mill Software the latest in a growing line of companies brought under its wing.

In what Version 1 calls a “great fit”, the acquisition of Beoley Mill Software represents a growing trend of UK purchases by the Irish software company.

Having already bought London-based DSP over the summer, Version 1’s latest acquisition gives the Irish company added support structures for companies operating in the Oracle application, JD Edwards World.

Beoley Mill’s 100 employees have been subsumed into Version 1’s growing staff count, with 300 of its 900 employees now based in the UK.

Beoley Mill will continue to trade under its own name, though company co-founder Stuart Rimmer will step down from his role as CEO and leave the business.

The company’s other co-founder and MD, Helen Rimmer, has been appointed to the Version 1 management team and will help oversee the successful integration of the two companies.

“The deal strengthens our existing Oracle partnership and expertise in ERP technology and delivers market leading capability in JD Edwards,” said Justin Keatinge, Version 1 CEO.

“It established us as the go-to ERP service provider for organisations in the UK and Irish markets.”

The UK companies Version 1 has acquired in recent years are: Tieto Corporation (2013), Rocela Group (2014), Patech Solutions (2015) and the ERP business of Database Service Provider (DSP) Global Limited (2016).

It also brought PM Centrix (2010) and Prose Software (2006) into the fold in the past.

“Version 1’s acquisition of Beoley Mill Software is an exciting development for us and will enable us to provide a wider range of solutions and services to our existing customers, helping them maximise their investment in JD Edwards technology,” said Helen Rimmer.

“As a combined entity we have the ability to compete and win business in the UK, Irish and European JD Edwards markets.”
