Social video-sharing service Vine’s co-founder Dom Hofmann has stepped down from his lead general manager position at the company but will retain a smaller role in developing the product.
Hofmann hasn’t revealed any information about what he intends to do next, but he has been working on another start-up, details of which have also yet to be revealed, Re/code reported.
Hofmann has led Vine since its inception in early 2012. In October that year, microblogging site Twitter acquired Vine, whose app enables users to produce and share six-second videos.
Twitter declined to comment on Hofmann’s resignation, Re/code reported.
Jason Toff, a product manager at YouTube, has accepted the new product manager position at Vine, though Re/code also reported the appointment shouldn’t be regarded as a replacement for Hofmann’s previous role.
Vine’s staff of about 14 employees are based in New York. The company is reportedly close to hiring a product leader based in Manhattan to work on the team.
