Following a trade mission to Australia led by Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland, 26 jobs are to be created in Ireland in the fields of aviation and veterinary medicine worth €10m.
Ireland’s Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton, TD, was the leading delegate on the five-day long trip covering three cities. Thirty-two Irish companies also travelling on the mission targeted export and investment opportunities across the travel, financial services, telecommunications and IT for healthcare sectors.
Of the 26 new jobs to be based in Ireland, 20 will be at iM3, the Australian-owned veterinary dental company, at its newly established European headquarters in Stamullen, Co Meath.
Six jobs are to be created at the aviation compliance specialist company ACS Consolidated Group Ltd, at its Dublin headquarters.
Furthermore, three Irish companies also announced new office openings, two of which will be in Sydney and one in Auckland, New Zealand.
Other deals have also been struck between companies, particularly in healthcare, where Sláinte Healthcare, Leading Esge Group, Lincor Solutions and HealthComms all formed partnerships with similar Australian operations.
Oneview Healthcare also announced it had reached agreement in principle to deploy its state-of-the-art software solution in two high-profile hospitals with a combined value of about AUS$5m.
Fenergo, Solgari and Westbourne IT made up the other data, IT and cloud agreements, respectively.
Speaking of the deals, Bruton said, “I have said before that Irish companies are at the heart of the recovery we are starting to see across our economy. The 32 companies who participated in this mission, some of whom have finalised deals, others of whom have made major progress, have done great work over this week. These companies will drive our employment recovery, and I wish them every success with pursuing the opportunities that have developed over the past week.”
