Arkk Solutions sets up a new office while Smith’s Engineering Works expands, bringing 21 positions to Northern Ireland.
Arkk, a London-based financial regulatory and compliance software company, is setting up an operation in Belfast, bringing nine jobs.
It specialises in the languages XBRL and iXBRL, with the Belfast centre replacing the company’s existing operation in India, to support its continued growth in the UK and Irish markets.
“We’re looking forward to developing our Belfast team and to date have been impressed with the availability of local skills,” said Richard Metcalfe, Arkk’s CEO.
“We are convinced this talent pool will assist in boosting our business.”
Meanwhile an UK£868,000 investment by Smith’s Engineering at its Ballymena premises will bring 12 jobs to the area. The advanced engineering company has been in operation for over 50 years.
“We have identified opportunities in a number of sectors are now investing to ensure we have the infrastructure and skills to fully exploit them,” says Darwin Smith, MD of the company.
Both announcements come on the back of Invest NI support.
