Irish job vacancies rise with Cork, Limerick and south-east performing well (infographic)

Rising 23pc on February 2014, professional job vacancies in Ireland are up, big time, with a fairly balanced geographical spread of positions it seems.

Although the figures are down on January this year, comparisons to 2014 are quite flattering, with well over 2,000 more professional jobs available now compared to last year.

February also saw a decent increase (6pc) in the number of professionals entering the jobs market, with a spike in the need for people with data analytics expertise.

Strong findings from outside of Dublin saw multilingual and financial services positions improve in Cork and Limerick – where job vacancies are up 70pc on 2014 – and the south-east.

“We have seen a very positive start to 2015 in Cork, Limerick and the south-east, with a significant increase in vacancies for professionals compared to the same time last year,” said Karen O’Flaherty, COO of Morgan McKinley, whose Monthly Employment Monitor revealed the findings.

“The ICT sector saw a growing requirement for professionals specifically with data analytics expertise. Overall, the trends indicate there is a greater geographic balance to employment recovery so far this year.”
