Malwarebytes, a company that defends web users from next-generation cyber threats, is to create 50 new jobs at a new EMEA HQ in Cork over the next three years.
Malwarebytes was founded in 2008 Marcin Kleczynski to tackle advanced online threats which consistently escape detection by traditional anti-virus tools.

“We are experiencing remarkable business growth and Cork will play a central role in our European expansion.”
Malwarebytes’ proprietary and innovative software protects both consumers and businesses using intelligent heuristics and behaviour-based technologies which are specifically designed to counteract the latest, most advanced, online threats. With global headquarters in Silicon Valley, the fast growing company has already been nominated as one of Forbes Magazine’s ‘America’s Most Promising Companies’ this year.

The investment is supported by IDA Ireland through the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation.
“Malwarebytes will be joining an established group of security software companies based in the Cork area,” IDA Ireland chief executive Martin Shanahan said.
“We can now point to a real cluster of global security software companies operating in Ireland – success breeds success. Malwarebytes has said that the Customer Support and Development Centre in Cork will be integral to the company’s European expansion plans.”
