23 Apr 2015

In our employer insights series, Paddy Meany, Practice Director at Version 1, discusses the seven key capabilities that shape his organisation, and why a diverse business makes for multiple opportunities.

Established almost 20 years ago, Version 1 is Ireland’s biggest indigenous IT consulting company, employing more than 600 people in both Ireland and the UK.

One of the fastest-growing IT services companies in western Europe, Version 1 has doubled both profitability and revenue over the last few years.

As a consulting company, working at Version 1 offers employees a wealth of varying projects to engage in, with the company backing services across all facets of Irish life. From motor insurance to taxation, Version 1 supports a myriad of businesses.

“We’ve divided the entire organisation into seven capabilities,” says Meany, “which is a structure that accommodates people of all different disciplines.

“So we have capabilities devoted to business transfer and change, business intelligence, and Microsoft platforms to our Oracle offerings.”

It’s the diversity of professional options available to Version 1 staff that Meany feels is the key attraction for job applicants.
