15 Jul 2015

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has announced its employment plans in Sligo for this year, with the company looking to double its hires in the region by recruiting 25 people before the year is out.

Looking to fill both permanent and temporary positions across engineering, quality, technical, logistics, finance and project management roles, GSK will eventually employ 250 people at the Sligo site – 25 roles have already been filled in 2015.

The Sligo site is a dedicated supply facility for Stiefel skincare products. It manufactures a wide range of quality skin healthcare products, including Physiogel, Oilatum and Driclor, for more 70 markets worldwide.

“It is fantastic to be celebrating our 40th year in Sligo with such positive news on the jobs front,” said Kevin Wright, site director.

“It is thanks to the dedicated staff here in Sligo that the business is growing. We believe in recruiting and investing in top quality people and offer competitive packages to ensure that we can achieve this.”

The majority of these recruits are required to support the site’s transition to a single state-of-the-art manufacturing operating model, and will be offered fixed-term contracts of up to 18 months duration.
