Internet memes and social media were made for each other, so this week’s career memes take the two and revisit the role of the social media manager.
Not that most social media managers deal with memes on a regular basis, but they do work to try and create viral content in a larger effort to promote brands.
The job can also include developing social media strategies/campaigns, maintaining and updating a company’s social media channels, such as Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest, engaging with consumers on these channels, using analytics tools to gauge the success of campaigns on social media, and writing blog posts.
A social media manager will typically have a background in marketing and strong skills when it comes to creativity, communication, and attention to detail.
The average salary for a social media manager in Ireland is €30,000, PayScale.com reports.
