Clinton visit to focus on US investment

29 Sep 2010

American investment will be the hot topic during former US president Bill Clinton’s upcoming visit to Northern Ireland and the Republic.

Promoting the prospect of US investment on both sides of the border, Clinton will meet business leaders and lobby to build economic links and attend events in the North and the Republic that precede a major Northern Ireland investment conference in Washington next month.

The former US president’s ties to Ireland remain strong and more than 20,000 people turned out to catch a glimpse of Clinton when he visited Derry, Northern Ireland, in 1995.

Following his engagement in the North, Clinton will travel to Dublin, where he will open the Clinton Institute for American Studies at University College Dublin.
