Deirdre Mooney has been elected vice-chairperson of GS1 Ireland, the local member organisation of GS1, a global supply chain standards organisation. She will be responsible for supporting the chairman in the strategic development of the organisation, representing GS1 Ireland and its 2,700 member companies. A past president of South Dublin Chamber of Commerce, Mooney has been IT & business planning manager with Gallaher (Dublin) since 1999. She previously has worked in the FMCG distribution and manufacturing sector in various roles including MIS manager for Allegro Group. She holds a mathematics degree from University College Dublin and a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Project Management.
