Irish security company, Top Security, has appointed Derek O’Beirne as operations manager in its IT security division, Topsec Technology. In his new role, O’Beirne will be overseeing the nationwide delivery of Blockmail, the company’s managed email-filtering service. He will also be responsible for the continued development of Topsec’s suite of managed services. O’Beirne will focus on driving sales, building on the success already achieved by Blockmail in effectively dealing with the growing spam, virus and other email-based security threats faced by Irish businesses. O’Beirne has 20 years experience in the field of electronic information products and joins Topsec Technology from Business World where he was operations manager from 2001. O’Beirne began his career in electronic information product management in 1997 when he joined the electronic products unit of Business & Finance magazine. From here, he went on to join eCountries.com as country manager.
