Leading Irish technology figure William Burgess has taken the role of chairman of the board of directors at Fineos, the Dublin-based provider of banking and insurance software. He assumes the chairmanship from Tom Mulcahy, who held the position since August 2001. Burgess has more than 35 years’ experience as a technology industry executive. He served as managing director of IBM Ireland from 1991 to 2002. Currently he is chairman of both the Irish National Competitiveness Council and the Digital Hub, and is a non-executive director with Ulster Bank.
