The Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation Batt O’Keeffe, TD, has said Accenture’s jobs announcement shows that the Government’s continued investment in research and development is vital for sustainable economic growth.
The minister said the announcement demonstrates the Government’s approach was working and that R&D investment strengthens Ireland’s foreign-owned multinational corporation base status.
“The creation of 100 jobs in Accenture’s new analytics innovation centre demonstrates that the Government’s approach to investing in our research and development capacity is the right one for economic recovery.
R&D investment
“Investment in research and development underpins indigenous industry, strengthens our foreign-owned multinational corporation base and creates high-quality knowledge-based jobs that can outlast shifts in economic trends,” said O’Keeffe.
Accenture made the announcement today that it was to create 100 new IDA Ireland-supported jobs at a new centre in Dublin over the coming four years.
O’Keeffe said Accenture, which already employs 1,300 people, and its continued commitment to Ireland was an “important step on the road towards making Ireland Europe’s innovation hub”.
