Harmac to create 100 jobs in Roscommon

US firm Harmac Medical Products is to create 100 new jobs at its facility in Roscommon, it was revealed this morning.

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton today announced that the medical device manufacturer is to expand its operation in Castlerea.

Recruitment is underway for the majority of the positions, with 20 already filled.

The company is making a significant investment in a 10,000-sq-ft expansion of its facility and the new jobs will come on stream over the next five years. They will bring total employment to 282 on completion. 

The privately-owned firm set up its Irish operation in 1998.

Speaking at today’s announcement John Somers, CEO at Harmac said, “Harmac’s investment in Castlerea and in the West of Ireland over the past 13 years has been a great success. We are proud to announce this major expansion to support our current customers and provide capacity for significant new opportunities.”
