Paddy Power makes senior IT hire to manage rising workforce

Ireland’s largest bookmaker, Paddy Power, expects to grow its IT development workforce threefold to 45 people and has made a new appointment to lead this change.

Denis Ivanov has been made software development manager charged with managing PaddyPower IT development teams which are made up of more than 15 people.

He is to provide technical leadership, managing the development of internal capability and ensuring consistent delivery of new software products and services, including PaddyPower’s proprietary trading platform.

Ivanov has more than 14 years of experience in the IT industry, working in a number of roles with Microsoft Corporation in Ireland and Russia, as well as with other IT organisations on projects ranging from large-scale enterprise solutions designed for Fortune 100 companies to consumer software products designed for millions of customers worldwide.

With an MSc in computer sciences and math from the Moscow State Technical University of Aviation, Ivanov is also a graduate of UCD Michael Smurfit School of Business, holding a degree in technology business management.

He also is an author of patents for Microsoft, and has a number of certifications from leading technology vendors. Main areas of his interest include innovation in software development, lean IT, e-commerce and e-finance.
