Dr Afshin Partovi has been appointed consultant ICT Research Advisor with Science Foundation Ireland. Dr Partovi joins SFI after an 18 year career spanning leadership roles in R&D, product development and strategy in the ICT industry. Most recently, he served as director of product development and product management at Digilens, a Silicon Valley optical networking startup. He has authored 67 reviewed publications and two book chapters; received several NASA awards and has been granted six patents. He received his Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from University of Southern California in Los Angeles and has an MBA from Columbia University in New York.
