Heineken Ireland has appointed Walter L Drenth as their new marketing director. Drenth brings considerable experience with him to the role. He joins from Heineken International, where he was the global marketing communication manager for the past four and a half years. In this role, he was responsible for the Heineken brand communication strategy, the development of integrated advertising and sponsorship programmes such as the UEFA Champions League, Rugby World Cup and worldwide Film & Music platforms. In his new role with Heineken Ireland, Drenth will be responsible for leading the marketing team in continuing to grow the strongly established Heineken portfolio, as well as playing a key role in strategic brand management, portfolio management and integrated communications. Drenth is a business economic graduate of the University of Amsterdam. He has also worked with ABN AMRO Bank in Hong Kong, Unilever NV and FHV/BBDO Creative Marketing Agency in the Netherlands.
