Environmental conference for feasible wind power

22 Sep 2010

An environmental expert from international consultancy WYG will explain how wind power is a feasible renewable energy option for water companies to help them reduce their carbon footprint at the fourth annual European Water and Wastewater Management (EWWM) conference in Leeds, UK, next week.

The annual two-day EWWM conference, which takes place on 27-28 September, will address how the industry is gearing up to environmental challenges by both increasing the efficiency of existing technology, whilst pushing forward with the development of more novel approaches.

The event, entitled ‘Reducing the Environmental Impact of the Water Industry’, will take place at the Royal Armouries in Leeds and more than 200 international representatives from water companies, consultancies, technical associations, universities, research establishments, process suppliers, government departments and agencies are expected to attend.

Dr Steve Mustow, an environmental specialist, will present his paper which addresses “the potential for utilising large-scale wind generation on water industry land”.
