Gigglebit: after the ice melts (art)

7 Feb 2015

Gigglebit is Siliconrepublic’s daily dose of the funny and fantastic in science and tech, to help start your day on a lighter note.

Usually the tone of this column is humour but sometimes it is also about making you think.

In this case we present you with images of what the world might look like if sea levels rose 300 meters (984 feet).

This artwork ‘Architecture Under Water’ by French artist Francois Ronsiaux imagines the world after a “pole reversal” where a massive movement of ocean currents and loss of ice cap stability would cause water to rise, and submerge even the tallest of manmade structures.

The exposition ‘Untitled Land’ is currently presented at Galerie Olivier Waltman in Paris until 22 February.
