Logitech has announced the release of the company’s first solar-powered keyboard.
The new innovation from Logitech, producer of peripheral devices for personal computers, operates whenever there is light without the need for batteries.
The 1/3-inch thick Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard K750 also operates indoors through an integrated solar panel without the need for cables. The keyboard also includes a solar power app to help you get the necessary light, makes it easy to get at-a-glance information about battery levels, and alerts you when you need more power.
No light? No problem
According to Denis Pavillard, vice-president of product marketing for Logitech keyboards and desktops, the low-profile keyboard features ‘Incurve’ keys that facilitate easy typing and “can work in total darkness for up to three months”.
He adds that its PVC-free construction and fully recyclable packaging “minimise its footprint”.
The Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard K750 is expected to be available in the US and Europe in November 2010.
