Nissan unveils the new Fuga hybrid

27 Oct 2010

Nissan has recently unveiled a hybrid version of its Fuga sedan model.

The car manufacturing giant says the Fuga will utilise the lithium ion battery that is superior to other hybrids, as it can charge or discharge rapidly.

It is expected for full-scale release in Japan next week, costing £45,000 (around €52,000) and is capable of double the mileage of conventional petrol conversions owing to its “one-motor, two-clutch parallel hybrid system”.

The Fuga achieves a 25pc improvement in fuel economy over 2010 standards – emitting 75pc less emissions compared to 2005 standards, the company said.
