Siemens providing EV charging infrastructure to Chinese city

9 Nov 2010

Siemens AG has said it expects to complete a deal to supply an electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure to a Chinese city this month.

According to Bloomberg.com, the deal would see the engineering company install EV charging points throughout the city and expand on their green technologies that already include wind farm development, medical equipment and high-speed trains.

EVs and plug-in hybrids

Siemens is expected to produce the charging points within the next three months while China is expected to invest heavily in plug-in hybrids and EVs for the infrastructure upgrade.

Siemens also announced today that the company expects to generate more than €40bn revenue from its green technologies by the year 2014.
