Siemens has announced it intends to exceed €40bn in green technologies revenues by 2014.
The technology company’s targets are based on the previous year’s achievements, which totalled around €28bn with products and solutions from it Environmental Portfolio. This compared to slightly less that €27bn in fiscal 2009.
“Green innovations are our lifeblood. We want to – and we will – increase our advantage over our most important competitors,” said Barbara Kux, member of Siemens’ managing board responsible for sustainability and the further development of the Environmental Portfolio.
Siemens’ portfolio contains a number of environmentally sound projects such as building its UK wind turbine factory before 2014 and providing Eurostar with a carbon efficient fleet of greener trains.
