A website that covers issues regarding the United Nations’ sustainability performance has been given an international award.

The website Greening the Blue, which won the international prize for ‘Best Website’ in the public sector category, was awarded by the International Visual Communications Association (IVCA).

Marco Forgione, IVCA CEO, said that Greening the Blue winning the award was a “tremendous achievement”.

Adventure

Imogen Martineau, the consultant behind the website, said: “Delivering communications for the UN on sustainability is the sort of job I always dreamed of doing. It’s been a real adventure getting it off the ground, and I’m overjoyed that the IVCA has recognised the efforts of the whole team with this award,” added Martineau.

Niclas Svenningsen, head of the sustainable United Nations team at the UN, said: “We are delighted that Greening the Blue has been recognised in this way. One of our objectives in making the UN more sustainable was to lead by example, and this award is evidence that we’re doing exactly that.”
