German auto giant Volkswagen, which is set to make its foray into the Irish marketplace with electric vehicles (EVs) at the end of 2013, will be bringing its all-electric Golf Blue-e-motion to Ireland for the first time this July during the international electric vehicle summit Fully Charged.
The electric vehicle conference, which is being organised by ESB ecars, is taking place at the Convention Centre in Dublin on 11 July.
There will be a range of electric vehicles, as well as technological innovations, on display during the conference. Attendees will also have the opportunity to test drive such electric cars as the Golf Blue-e-motion.
Volkswagen itself is set to enter the Irish market with electric vehicles at the end of 2013. At the minute the brand is carrying out an international roadshow as it prepares for its entry into the EV market.
Volkswagen is taking in eight west European countries and Japan, to prepare different customer groups for its electromobility plans.
As for the Fully Charged summit, a panel of high-profile international speakers will be sharing their insights into the latest developments in electric vehicles.
They will also be covering emerging technologies and innovations in new product development, as well as showcasing the latest electric vehicles.
Paul Mulvaney, managing director, ESB ecars, said models such as the Golf will play a vital role in endorsing electric vehicle technology.
