Amazon MP3 store comes to Android

22 Jan 2010

Amazon.co.uk’s MP3 store is now available to Android handset users in Ireland and the UK with the launch of a new dedicated app.

The Amazon MP3 app can be used to browse through and purchase downloads from the entire online catalogue of millions of DRM-free tracks.

You can use the app to download music but it’s not an MP3 player itself and it works over both Wi-Fi and 3G connections.

There are two different apps (searchable through the Android marketplace with keywords ‘Amazon mp3’): one for older devices running on Android v1.5, eg, the HTC Magic and those on v1.6+, like the Hero, Nexus One (although we’re still waiting on a launch date for this here in Ireland) and Droid.
