Digiweb doubles home broadband speeds

31 Mar 2008

Digiweb has doubled the speed of most of its residential broadband services.

All new and existing customers of Digiweb’s most popular residential broadband package Metro Home will see speeds increase today from 3Mbps to 6Mbps. Metro Xtra will double from 5Mbps to 10Mbps.

The entry-level Metro Value package will increase from 2Mbps to 3Mbps.

The Metro services are widely available in Dublin, Waterford, Cork, Limerick and Galway and 30 other major towns in Ireland. Digiweb recently announced plans to move into the UK with the expansion of the Metro network key towns in Northern Ireland by the end of 2008.

“At Digiweb we recognise that the customer need has now shifted from broadband availability towards quality and speed of service,” said Digiweb CEO, Colm Piercy.

“As broadband penetration rapidly increases in Ireland and with the movement away from traditional services delivered over landlines, Metro has a unique and very competitive place in the Irish broadband and phone market.”
