Owners of iPhone and BlackBerrry smartphones will be able to send scheduled group SMS messages, thanks to the latest innovation from Irish firm Go2mobile.

GrouptextApp is a smartphone solution to fulfill the growing demand of businesses requiring constant and cost-effective connectivity.

Established in 1998, Go2mobile is Ireland’s longest-established mobile software player.

GrouptextApp is an extension of Go2mobile’s existing online Grouptext software-as-a-service (SaaS).

It enables staff to do all their administration worka (such as adding mobiles to groups etc) as required from the comfort and ease of their regular laptop/PC keyboard. They can also us the application to co-ordinate the sending of text messages away from their office.

John Ahern (pictured), managing director of Go2mobile, explained: “Sales representatives and managers who wish to update colleagues on meetings, orders and sales leads via their smartphone device can cost effectively do so while on the road.

The app is also being used to co-ordinate response teams outside of office hours. “As the groups are maintained centrally, if a smartphone is lost or stolen, the groups and contact numbers are available immediately on the replacement smartphone,” Ahern added.
