Nokia 7705 Twist’s mobile design

10 Sep 2009

It is reminiscent of the good old pager from the early ’90s, except it has a slide-out QWERTY keypad, makes calls and you can surf the web on it, too.

Cute as a button

It looks rather cute so probably one aimed at teens and hipsters, but for such a compact device (2.71″ x 2.71″ x 0.59″) it has the works.

It has a 2.4-inch TFT QVGA screen, 2.5-mm headset jack, a 3.0-megapixel camera/camcorder with flash and autofocus, visual voice mail, a mobile broadband connection and corporate email.

Home sweet Habitat

For those keeping their social circle close, it has a special interface when in Habitat mode, this visual cartoonish-looking display lets you organise calls and messaging history in an easy-to-find way.

Oh my blog!

There is also a “post to blogs” feature for your multimedia and threaded messaging (kinda like the iPhone) so you can follow the conversation a little better.

The Nokia Twist will be available from 13 September for US$99.99 after a US$50.00 USD mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.

Sadly, there is no world on when or if the device is coming to Europe.

Photo: Nokia’s new ultra-compact device, the 7705 Twist, is definitely a handset with a twist.
