As O2 UK’s two-year exclusive contract selling Apple’s iPhone comes to an end, France Telecom’s UK mobile network Orange has just announced that it will also begin selling the smart phone in the UK.
Though there is no exact date, Orange has said it will have the iPhone 3GS on its network by Christmas.
Orange did not give any details of the handset price or tariffs, either.
Not much other information was available about the deal other than an official statement from Orange saying, “Orange UK and Apple have reached an agreement to bring iPhone 3G and 3GS to Orange UK customers later this year.
“Orange, which has the largest 3G network covering more people in the UK than any other operator, will sell iPhone in all Orange direct channels, including Orange shops, the Orange webshop and Orange telesales channels, as well as selected high-street partners.”
