Irish sports broadcasting player Setanta’s US subsidiary is to rollout a broadband service targeting rugby fans in the US, offering them online tournament tickets for all 48 games of the upcoming Rugby World Cup.

Setanta’s US broadband service will exclusively carry live online coverage of all 48 matches from the third largest sporting event in the world, including original in-country commentary, pre and post match analysis as well as post-match analysis for US$119.99.

Annual subscriptions to Setanta’s US broadband service offers access to all of Setanta’s rugby programming, including the Ruby World Cup, the Six Nations, Guinness Premiership and Heineken European Cup for US$150 per year.

Rugby is regarded as the fastest growing sport in North America and according to Rugby Magazine nearly 250,000 people in the US play rugby every day.

“Rugby enthusiasts can now watch the matches of their choice at their convenience with Setanta Broadband, the most robust online destination for rugby that complements our televised broadcasting schedule of the event,” commented Roger Hall, chief executive of Setanta Sports’ North American subsidiary.

“No other sports network offers this type of flexibility and unprecedented depth of coverage for sports fans wanting to follow the action in the means most convenient for them,” Hall said.
