Weather affects hundreds of Vodafone broadband customers

7 Dec 2010

Vodafone Ireland confirmed that several hundred of its fixed-line broadband customers experienced connection quality issues due to weather conditions and technical problems on their network recently.

According to a statement, Vodafone Ireland made an upgrade to its network yesterday which “significantly improved the service.”

However, the company acknowledged that many of its customers are still impacted.

As a result, from midday today, Vodafone has implemented further changes to the network in order to improve its service for the affected users and has apologised for the inconvenience.

The weather has seen some broadband disruption from other service providers.

Last week, 4,200 Eircom customers were without phone and broadband thanks to the wintry conditions. Field technicians were grounded, making it even more difficult for them to fix the problem.
