A leading platform in augmented reality for mobiles, Layar, has secured €10m growth capital.

The new funds will speed up the development of Layar’s app, software and platform, finance its continued geographical expansion and further develop its augmented reality products.

The round of funding sees Intel Capital enter as a shareholder while Prime Ventures expands its share.

By investing in Layar, Intel Capital joins Prime Ventures and Sunstone Capital, who already funded the Amsterdam-based firm in its first financing rounds.
