Ireland’s second Apple Premium Reseller Store is to open in Cork this weekend and will stock all Apple products and software including Macs, iPods and iPhones.

The new Compu b store, second after the company’s Limerick store, will be staffed by fully trained Apple experts.

“We opened our first store in Limerick only last year, and the response has been incredible,” said Denis O’Connell, founder, Compu b.

“We hope our new store in the heart of the new Opera Lane district in Cork will prove equally as popular as more and more people choose the Apple experience. Apple products are uniquely aspirational and the Premium Reseller store concept allows our fully trained staff to best identify the Apple product that is most suited to each individual customer’s needs”

Apple quarterly results

In its latest quarterly results, Apple revealed it sold 3.05 million Macintosh computers worldwide during the quarter, representing a 17pc unit increase over the year-ago quarter. The company sold 10.2 million iPods during the quarter, representing an 8pc unit decline from the year-ago quarter.

Apple sold 7.4 million iPhones in the quarter, representing 7pc unit growth over the year-ago quarter.

“We are thrilled to have sold more Macs and iPhones than in any previous quarter,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “We’ve got a very strong lineup for the holiday season and some really great new products in the pipeline for 2010.”

Apple Premium Reseller Compu b will open at 17 Opera Lane, Patrick Street, at 11am on 28 November with a special one-day only 11pc discount on all Apple products. Compu b is recruiting for the new store and full training is provided. Those interested should check out www.compub.com or telephone 1 850 668888 for further details.
