Irish IoT platform provider Asavie is aiming to expand its reach within Asia, with the opening of a new regional HQ in Kuala Lumpur.

From its headquarters in Dublin, Asavie is becoming a growing influence within the internet of things (IoT) market, particularly within the area of industrial IoT.

Back in February, the company revealed its Industrial IoT Accelerator Kit, aimed at speeding up IoT adoption in the wider world, on top of global network testing platforms for makers and SMEs.

This was among the reasons why it was included in Siliconrepublic.com’s recent list of 50 key players in Ireland’s IoT ecosystem.

Now it has its sights set on expanding its influence in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, with the opening of a new regional headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Asavie has received good feedback for its on-demand network connectivity services from mobile network operators and OEMs in the APAC region.

Through this office, Asavie said it hopes to provide a range of IoT connectivity and mobility management service solutions to its customers in the APAC market.

The move to Kuala Lumpur will see the company expand its operations to include sales, pre-sales, consulting services and technical support.

IoT sector to boom by 2021

The move comes at an opportune time, as the APAC region is expected to show significant growth in the IoT sector and outpace the North American market by 2021.

“Asavie is experiencing significant growth and demand for our services, and we are expanding our physical presence in APAC to better serve the accelerating market opportunity,” said Ralph Shaw, CEO of Asavie.

“With the growing adoption of the IoT across many industry verticals and the continued demand for mobility management solutions, there is huge demand for Asavie’s offerings. This latest strategic expansion will allow us to serve the thousands of companies in APAC seeking to gain competitive advantage through Asavie’s innovative solutions.”

Asavie has also announced the appointment of Paul Rogers as vice-president of the APAC region, with responsibility for sales and business development.
