BT Group has made a binding offer to acquire the Mission Critical Infrastructures division of CS Communication & Systems, a French IT systems and network provider.

The telecoms giant has offered €60m in cash for the division.

The division provides corporate and public sector clients with a range of IT services for building and maintaining IT infrastructures including consulting, network integration, in-sourcing, outsourcing and data centre services.

The division employs approximately 1,400 people and made €137.7m revenue in 2006.

Both BT and CS have begun consultations with the unions involved.

The completion of the deal will be subject to merger and other regulatory clearances and is expected to close before 30 November.
