Dublin-based IT infrastructure support company Comsys has become a pan-European business partner of data protection firm Axxana in a deal valued at €1m over the next two years.

Under the deal, Comsys will integrate Axxana’s enterprise data protection technology, the Axxana Phoenix System, into its solutions portfolio across the Irish, UK and North African markets.

The Axxana Phoenix System, developed in conjunction with EMC, is capable of delivering zero data loss over any distance using IP lines.

Ben McGahon, managing director of Comsys, said the company’s ongoing expansion, including its new status as a pan-European Axxana partner, further enhances Comsys’ ability to deliver the highest quality of services and solutions to its customers.

“We chose Axxana because a critical element of our strategy to drive business growth is our focus on partnering with innovative technology vendors, like Axxana, who are changing the game in terms of what’s possible around disaster-recovery systems,” McGahon added.

“Axxana’s technology effectively transforms asynchronous replication into synchronous replication, delivering a complete solution that guarantees zero data loss over any distance at no additional cost or, in many cases, decreased costs.”

Paul Jassies, director of sales for Axxana, said Comsys has demonstrated that it has the technical skills along with the sales and marketing capabilities to effectively grow and support Axxana’s base of customers in the Irish and UK markets, along with the emerging markets in North Africa.
