Ergo signs €2.5m managed print contract with ESB
IT service firm Ergo has won a three-year managed print services contract with ESB that will see its printer real estate reduced from 2,000 printers down to 500 multifunction devices across 126 sites.
The new infrastructure will save ESB almost €1m a year.
Duplex printing will now be the standard option, two-sided printing that will cut paper consumption by up to 30pc. The system also ensures that print jobs are only released when the employee swipes the printer with his or her staff ID card, enhancing security and further reducing waste.
Realex Payments in e-commerce deal with UK high street firm
One of the UK’s largest high street greeting card and gift companies, Clinton Cards, has selected Irish firm Realex Payments’ payments engine to drive its multi-channel e-commerce strategy.
As part of the deal, Realex will deliver a tailored payments service to the company.
Barry Hartog of Clinton Cards commented that it was the “system resilience and partnered approach” of Realex Payments that influenced the company’s decision.
Jon Sheard of Realex Payments added: “Clinton Cards is another great addition to our growing retail portfolio as we continue to demonstrate that our expertise and partnered approach works in this innovative sector.”
AIB rolling out digital card readers with ‘one time’ passwords
AIB has signed a deal with global digital security player Gemalto to roll out EMV card readers to online banking customers and enhance a user’s protection when online banking and making internet transactions.
As part of a multi-year contract, Gemalto is delivering the complete, future-proof Ezio solution, including strong authentication software, Ezio Club EMV card readers, as well as consulting services.
The driver behind the upgrade is to further develop AIB’s online offering with new and enhanced financial services for the benefit of customers.
