Dell is on a bit of a splurge this week. Just yesterday the computing giant announced that it was buying Wyse Technology. Now, Dell’s latest acquisition is Clerity, the Chicago-headquartered global provider of application modernisation and legacy system re-hosting solutions and software.
Financial terms of the Clerity deal have not been disclosed, however.
Dell said that Clerity acquisition would enable its customers to lower the cost of transitioning business-critical applications and data from legacy computing systems and onto more modern architectures such as the cloud.
In an official statement, Steve Schuckenbrock, president, Dell Services, said that the company “remains committed to open architecture computing and to helping our customers implement optimal platforms for their applications”.
Yesterday, Dell confirmed that it had signed a definitive agreement to acquire Wyse Technology for an undisclosed sum. Wyse is a provider of services, software, and hardware for the central management of IT resources.
The Wyse deal remains subject to customary conditions and is expected to close in the second quarter of Dell’s FY13.
