The largest Irish-owned manufacturer of digital media formats like CDs and DVDs has completed a €1.2m capital investment in new manufacturing facilities.

The investment makes Trend Digital Media, formerly Trend Studios, the largest Irish producer of digital media formats like CDs and DVDs. The company works for firms like Intel, Ogilvy and Gill & Macmillan.

The investment is in conjunction with the launch of a new company website aimed at boosting the company’s indigenous reach.

The company provides in-house digital recording and editing, large- and small-scale manufacture of CDs and DVDs, professional authoring and mastering, and print and packaging.

“This [investment] gives us a critical competitive edge against international manufacturers, who cannot provide the complete service in a timely and cost-effective manner. Freight contributes to cost and delivery issues.

“Trend Digital Media is in an excellent position to capitalise on the indigenous market for CD and DVD manufacturing.

“As two of the largest international groups have recently pulled out of the Irish market, our investment in additional capacity allows us to efficiently service the increased local demand,” Morley added.
