Dublin ticketing firm breaks the UK

Dublin firm Ticket Text is to partner with British music and media company MAMA Group to provide a mobile ticketing service across venues in the UK.

MAMA Group is listed on the AIM and its venues include the Hammersmith Apollo, the Forum and the Borderline in London.

Using Ticket Text’s innovative mobile technology, customers of MAMA Group’s events will receive their tickets as unique barcodes sent via text message straight to their mobile phone. Customers then take their phone to the relevant venue and scan the barcode to gain admittance. Receiving tickets by SMS through Ticket Text saves money because Ticket Text does not charge customers any postage and packaging fees.

“We are delighted to partner with Ticket Text to provide a mobile ticketing solution for our venues and to supporting new technology and solutions in the same way in which we support new music talent every day,” announced MAMA Group’s co-CEOs Dean James and Adam Driscoll.

“This partnership is further validation that mobile ticketing is the future of all event ticketing,” commented Mark McLaughlin, CEO of Ticket Text. “Mobile ticketing eliminates the need for postage and packaging fees and offers a more efficient distribution method for the customer while offering the venue a new method for distributing tickets.”

Tickets are now available for a variety of MAMA Group events on the Ticket Text website, www.ticket-text.com.

Ticket Text signed an agreement with Ryanair in July that will provide the airline’s 52 million customers with low-cost tickets for events across Europe.
