Eircom is reaching out to help SMEs – whether they already have an online presence or not – to maximise their online potential through its Digital Boost initiative.

A dedicated Digital Boost website offers practical guidance and tips on developing a business online, from how to create a domain name and set up a website, to generating business. The site will also list the dos and don’ts of having a website and offer advice on how to protect a business online.

Every business that registers on the site will receive a free domain name (if they don’t already have one) to get their website started, plus business-class email for up to 10 users. Registered businesses will also be entered into Digital Boost’s monthly competition to win a brand new website developed for their business, a one-year telecoms package (including landline, broadband, mobile and teleconferencing) worth €2,500, and a strategy day where they can consult with a panel of digital and marketing experts.

“We know from speaking to our own customers that many SMEs do not have a website and we hope that the practical advice available through Digital Boost will help them get started,” said Eircom’s head of small and medium business Gary Disley. “For those who do have a website, many are not making the most of it in terms of driving sales and communicating with their own customers. They can now use our Digital Boost website as a hands-on, everyday tool to help them maximise their online presence.”
