Esat BT in €2.3m link-up with Mentor Graphics

Esat BT has signed a €2.3m contract to deliver network services to Mentor Graphics for the next three years.

Under the terms of the deal, Mentor’s facility in Shannon will be able to connect with 24 other Mentor sites in 13 countries around the world through Esat BT’s virtual private network (VPN) frame relay service.

Mentor Graphics Corporation is a world leader in electronic hardware and software design solutions. The end-to-end managed network service from Esat BT provides Mentor Graphics with secure high performance connectivity across its geographically dispersed locations, ideally suited to supporting LAN/WAN based IP, data and time-sensitive applications.

Esat BT’s Frame Relay customers come from all industry sectors, but is particularly suitable for multinational companies looking for secure communications connectivity across geographically dispersed locations. Esat BT’s Frame Relay service is accessible from over 70 countries around the globe.

Commenting on the contract, Martin Gennery, IT director for Europe and Asia at Mentor Graphics, said: “Our business is increasingly reliant on access to an IP-based Virtual Private Network to support a variety of corporate applications from intranets/extranets, email systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP) and document imaging systems.

“The need for a secure, high quality performance network that can provide future-proof flexibility and scalability with extensive global reach is critical as we move forward,” he said.
