Google appoints marketing director for UK and Ireland

Google has appointed eBay’s UK marketing director Torsten Schuppe to the newly created role of marketing director, UK and Ireland.

Schuppe will take up his position at the end of November. The new role spans marketing of the search business, and also covers Apps, Chrome and other Google products.

Schuppe joined eBay in the UK in 2006 as head of internet marketing with a focus on new user acquisition. He was promoted to UK marketing director in 2008. Before eBay, he spent nine years at German media group Bertelsmann, where he held a number of roles across Europe in TV business development, direct marketing and ecommerce.
