Irish mobile network software development company Druid Software has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with South African-owned ICT converged solutions provider Jasco to supply fixed mobile converged solutions to enterprise customers in sub-Saharan Africa.

The news comes during Enterprise Ireland’s trade mission to South Africa this week.

Druid Software, based in Bray, Co Wicklow, is to provide business users with enhanced service while they use their mobile devices in the office. The Raemis application also allows mobile devices to integrate with business fixed-line services, replacing the function of traditional PBX extensions and desk phones.

Ireland’s Minister for Trade and Development, Joe Costello, TD, who is leading the trade mission, said trade and economic co-operation between Ireland and South Africa has increased significantly in recent years.

“Druid Software’s expansion of its international business with this new relationship with Jasco is a welcome development in this context. (This) announcement confirms the strong reputation that innovative Irish companies like Druid Software have with demanding customers in markets around the world.

“My department, the embassy network and Enterprise Ireland are ready to support such companies in every possible way to increase further their international presence.”

Druid Software’s sales and marketing director Michael O’Dwyer said the company will leverage Jasco’s customer relationships and ICT deployment capabilities in the service rollout.

“The motivation for carriers to adopt the Raemis solution is driven by their need to win and retain business customers,” O’Dwyer said.

“In addition to managing a dedicated small cell cluster, Raemis integrates with corporate communications infrastructure thus helping to decrease churn rate amongst business customers.”
