Promising Irish technology company Lincor Solutions has won a multi-million euro contract to install its MEDIVista technology in the London Health Sciences Centre in Ontario, Canada.

The initial phase of the contract involves the installation of 300 beds at the 1,000-bed LHSC campus.

Lincor, an Enterprise Ireland client company specialising in health-care solutions, secured the contract along with its Canadian technology partner Carillion IT, a subsidiary of Carillion Canada.

The announcement was made during Enterprise Ireland’s trade mission to Canada involving 35 companies from sectors including software, telecoms and financial services, aiming to grow their exports and extend their trade links with Canada.

Software solutions

“Lincor is an innovative Irish company offering technologically advanced software solutions for the medical sector,” said Tanaiste Mary Coughlan TD.

“The company is a fast-growing, international Irish success story with solutions installed at over 14,000 hospital beds in some 60 hospitals worldwide. This new contract is a further step in the company’s impressive export growth that will help them bolster their already successful Irish operation.”

MEDIVista is a fully digital solution providing a suite of triple-play entertainment services for patients across Internet, TV and Telephone, as well as access to clinical applications such as Electronic Patient Records and X-Ray images.

Patient care

Patient well-being is enhanced by having access to entertainment and communication services, while for hospitals, productivity and patient safety is improved by giving medical staff the ability to access clinical applications at the point of care.

Lincor operates internationally from Dublin, Cork and Toronto, and now has the largest installed base of its type worldwide.

“We are delighted to win this contract with our partners Carillion IT for the London Health Sciences Centre in Ontario, especially as LHSC is so highly regarded in the Canadian health-care sector. This adds to our growing presence and reputation as the leading global provider of digital media entertainment and clinical access solutions at the point of care,” said Richard Cooke, chief executive of Lincor Solutions.
