IT Alliance to create 40 jobs

Outsourcing specialist IT Alliance is to establish a new project management centre employing 40 people.

The centre, which will be located at IT Alliance’s Dublin headquarters, will be headed by Terence O’Donnell, former director of the Centre for Project Management at University of Limerick.

O’Donnell has held project management positions at Compaq/Digital and the North Eastern Health Board.

“The cost and time overrun on many of Ireland’s flagship capital projects has focused attention on the need for value for money that can be delivered by professional project management,” he commented.

Philip Maguire, CEO of IT Alliance, added: “The demand for project management services has expanded in Ireland in recent years from the traditional areas of the engineering/construction sector to the IT, telecommunications, financial services, pharmaceutical and biomedical sectors, and IT Alliance is heavily targeting these areas. We are particularly pleased to have recruited perhaps the most foremost expert in project management in the country to manage this new division.”

Established in 1997 and employing 250 people, IT Alliance provides a range of outsourcing services to a blue-chip client base.
